Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how Compare City ("we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on our website, and how you can manage your preferences.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help the website remember information about your visit, such as your preferences and actions, which can make your next visit easier and the site more useful to you. Cookies do not, by themselves, identify you personally, but they may be linked to personal information you provide to us.

2. Why we use cookies

We use cookies for a number of reasons, including to:

• make our website function properly;
• understand how visitors use our website so we can improve it;
• remember your preferences between visits; and
• support our advertising and remarketing activities across other websites and social media platforms.

3. Types of cookies we use

Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are required for our website to operate correctly, for example to enable page navigation and access to secure areas of the site. The website may not function properly without these cookies.

Analytics and performance cookies
These cookies allow us to recognise and count the number of visitors to our website and understand how visitors move around and interact with it. This helps us improve how our website works and identify areas that need attention.

Functionality cookies
These cookies remember choices you make on our website, such as your region or preferences, to give you a more personalised experience on return visits.

Advertising and targeting cookies
These cookies are used by us, or by third parties such as Google and Meta (Facebook), to show you advertising that is more relevant to you and your interests, including on other websites and social media platforms, as part of our marketing and retargeting campaigns.

4. Third-party cookies

Some cookies on our website are placed by third-party service providers, including for analytics (such as Google Analytics) and advertising or social media purposes (such as Google and Meta/Facebook). These third parties may use information collected through cookies about your visits to our website and other websites to provide measurement services and target advertisements. You can find out more about how Google uses this information at www.google.com/policies/privacy/partners/.

5. Web beacons

We may also use web beacons (also known as clear GIFs or pixel tags) on our website or in our emails. These are small pieces of code that allow us to count visitors to a page, or to confirm that a cookie has been received, and to understand how you interact with our content.

6. Managing your cookie preferences

You can control and manage cookies in a number of ways. Most web browsers allow you to view, manage, delete and block cookies for a website through the browser's settings. Please note that if you choose to block or delete cookies, including strictly necessary cookies, some parts of our website may not function as intended or may not be accessible at all.

You may also be able to opt out of certain third-party advertising cookies through industry tools such as the Your Online Choices platform (youronlinechoices.com.au) or the settings provided by the relevant advertising network.

7. Changes to this Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
